‘Great’ Edmonton North, the
historical manufacturing hub of Great Western Containers has celebrated many
cheers and tears this past 6 months.
Our story starts with Paul
Labissonniere, Division Manager, accepting the new position of Corporate
Purchaser and moving into his new Edmonton location (complete with a fancy
coffee maker!).
George Tourigny, steadfast and true
for 25 years to Great Western Containers, then assumed the role of wearing
the 2 hats of Division Manager and Operations Manager, until the hiring in
January, of Daniel Gauthier, as Plant Supervisor.
As if this wasn’t all incredibly
Great!!, our story goes on to the hiring, in March, of kind and competent,
Kara Piquette, as CSR. We are indeed very lucky to have Kara complete our
Family!
Every story has to have a curve.
This one is more like a cliff hanger!
In early June, George was asked to
take on the role in Division Manager of Edmonton South, effective almost
immediately. Like we said - Steadfast and True – George comes to the
rescue.
Lucky for Great Western Containers,
Daniel agreed to take the position of Division Manager. Coincidently, the
statements of GWC’s Core Values absolutely reflect Daniel’s values with
regard to: excellence in relationships, high ethical behaviour, continuous
improvement and learning, work hard, work smart, have fun, exceptional
service.
If you thought the story was over,
wait!!
Now we needed someone to fill in
Daniel’s former Plant Supervisor position.
Stepping up to the plate, Rob
French, our former ‘fill-in’ Shipper/Receiver has accepted the position of
Plant Supervisor. Rob has been with us for 20 years - 20 years of
experience, rich in history and solid know-how.
So you see ‘all’ that we have to
celebrate. Life at Great Western Container’s Edmonton North Manufacturing
Facility just keeps getting better!!
We at EDN pay a tribute to George’s
special dedication, genuine caring and his many administrative and millright!
talents. We will miss your electrifying happiness and never-ending
willingness to help people.
Thanks for the good times George!!

I would have waited until high tide.
