1979	Nils and Sylvia Bodtker acquire E&E Containers (1979) Ltd.
1982	A second Calgary drum reconditioner is acquired.
1983	The second Calgary plant is relocated to Edmonton (Nisku).
1984	The Calgary plant is expanded. Assume distributorship of Hunter Drums Limited (now Russell-Stanley) poly drums.
1990	Acquire Vulcan Packaging Inc. plants in Edmonton, Winnipeg and Regina. Assume distributorship for Vulcan Packaging Inc. pails and Crown Cork & Seal Canada Inc. cans.
1991	Acquire Vulcan Packaging Inc. warehousing operation in Vancouver.
1993	Assume distributorship of Ropak Canada Inc. plastic pails.
1993	Expand and relocate Vancouver operation. Leyland Industries Inc. poly bottles are added to the BC product line.
1995	Nampac Edmonton steel drum manufacturing plant is acquired. Great Western Containers starts its quest for higher technology production methods with the installation of a progressive washer system at the Edmonton (South) plant.
1996	A second steel drum manufacturing line is commissioned at the Edmonton (North) plant. An automatic steel drum painting line is commissioned at the Edmonton (South) drum reconditioning plant.
1997	Great Western Containers connects to the world wide web!
1997	Automatic flame treating system for poly drums is implemented.
1999	Great Western Containers (Calgary) builds a new plant and head office.
2000	Great Western Containers (Delta) expands again taking on an additional 15,000 sq ft at the existing location and moving their offices.
2004	The four person Executive Team model is implemented at Head Office including; Finance, Human Resources, Operations and Sales & Marketing.
2004	Great Western Containers (Edmonton) leases a 30,000 sq ft warehouse to handle the growing distribution market and make room for IBC reconditioning in the south plant.
2005	Fire at the Great Western Containers (Regina) reconditioning plant results in the destruction of the plant.
2006	New 6,000 sq ft warehouse and offices open in Regina.
2006	Great Western Containers goes through a "rebranding" and unleashes its new website on the world.
2007	Great Western Containers aquires the Greif Lloydminster, Alberta plant, land and business, expanding its products manufactured to steel, plastic and fibre drums.
2007	Great Western Containers (Calgary) leases a 15,000 sq ft warehouse.
2007	Brent Bodtker revectors and considers some very clever entrepreneurial ideas.
2008	Great Western Containers surpasses the $50,000,000 revenue plateau.
2008	Great Western Containers ventures into the blending and filling business by acquiring Nemco Resources Ltd. in Winnipeg, Saskatoon and Regina.
2009	Nemco (Regina) moves to the Great Western Containers site in Regina.
2010	Great Western Containers expands nationally by opening locations in both Toronto and Montreal.
2011	Acquire Can-Am Containers' reconditioning facility in Port Moody, BC.
